Day eight - Sigiriya Rock

Another day and another World Heritage listed site and what a site this one is. A 200m high column of rock with frescos, a palace on top, surrounding antiquities, lion entrance to the palace, polished granite thrones, moats and more. Some being created in the first century AD, some Buddhist inscriptions dating back to 3rd Century BC. If people think the pyramids in Egypt are impressive (and they are) then check this place out!!!
