Day 6 Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage

We visited the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, originally set up by the Born Free Foundation. Unfortunately this was not one of the highlights of the tour, with chained baby elephants, a knowledge that the elephants raised here will never be returned to the wild it is more of a zoo passing itself off as an "orphanage". For us is was only going to be a few more days before we saw numerous of these amazing animals in the wild.
